27 July 2013, Memphis, Tennessee

This morning I was a "Hard Headed Woman" and got the boys "All Shook Up" in order to beat all the hardcore Elvis fans.  We had to "Shake, Rattle and Roll" it over to Graceland!

I saw Graceland 19 years ago and remember stifling giggles. How different it was in my eyes today. Elvis was so accomplished at 22 and seemed to be sweet and rather innocent his young successful days. I think of Justin Bieber and other young musicians today-they just don't hold a candle to The King.

Alex's favorite part was (surprise!) The Jungle Room. I really liked the poodle wallpaper in Elvis' parents' bathroom. I think Maxwell may have liked best the seat belt on the bed in the Lisa Marie.

So onward and upward -we needed to head on to OK City. On the way out of Memphis, we saw the unlikely pyramid:

We have driven many, many miles and I guess Maxwell was getting a little stir-crazy....at one point I saw this in my rear-view mirror:

When we arrived at the OKC KOA, we were greeted by my Aunt Issy, Cousin Justin and his boys Braden and Ethan who drove up from Texas to see us. Maxwell and Alex had never met their Texas cousins and Alex was very excited to meet a family member who is his age.

Issy had a Texan dinner experience for us-which was very much appreciated (and delicious!)
